Jeremy Bryan, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Hey there, I’m Jeremy!
Taking the first step into therapy requires real courage, and if you’re here, you’re already doing the heavy lifting by choosing to prioritize yourself.
My philosophy is built on a balance of deep empathy and straightforward honesty. I’m known for a refreshingly direct, open style—I don’t just sit back and nod silently while you talk. Together, we’ll dive into what’s holding you back, hold space for what hurts, and focus on practical, actionable steps to help you move forward. I’m here to be a firm, compassionate ally who holds you accountable in a way that feels supportive, clear, and focused on real growth.
My path in mental health began at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I completed both my Bachelor’s in Psychology and my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. From there, I sharpened my skills on the front lines of care, working in both hospital and outpatient clinic settings before joining The Mind Laboratory. Handling acute crisis care and intensive programs taught me how to guide people through their most overwhelming moments with calm, steady focus.
Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy, I help adults navigate anxiety, depression, major life transitions, self-esteem struggles, and LGBTQIA+ topics. You are the expert on your own life—my role is to give you the tools, clarity, and perspective to step into your full confidence.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will listen without judgment, tell you the truth, and actively help you build the life you want, I’m here. Let's get to work.
-
Working with me feels like a comfortable, real conversation where you can finally stop censoring yourself. Clients often tell me our sessions are the first place they’ve felt safe enough to lay everything on the table—without fear of being judged or needing to overexplain themselves.
We’ll talk through what’s really driving your habits and stress, look at how the people and spaces around you impact your mood, and build simple, physical tools to help you stay calm and grounded when life gets heavy.
-
You don't need to be in total crisis to benefit from therapy. Many of the people I see are doing well on the outside, but are exhausted on the inside and just need a safe space to unload and feel truly understood.
A large part of my practice centers on gay men in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, as well as people living with HIV. I regularly help clients who are working through:
Constant worry, burnout, or low mood that makes everyday life feel heavier than it should.
Trouble setting boundaries or speaking up for what they actually need.
Confidence & identity questions, like figuring out who you are and what you want next.
Sensitive or non-traditional topics—from unique relationship styles to private interests—where you just want an open, accepting ear.
-
Depending on what you're working through, we’ll blend evidence-based methods into a style that feels natural, collaborative, and effective for you:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Solution-Focused Therapy
Mindfulness & Somatic Practices
Sociological & Systems-Based Therapy
Person-Centered Therapy
